| Located at Miami Central Senior High, the Rocket Awareness Program is a peer-education group that takes pride in educating people about HIV/AIDS awareness. We have peer education classes, where we work to clear up all of the myths people have heard and we inform them of the facts. We also try to give students all of the information about hotlines and centers where they can receive more advice, testing, etc.. The R.A.P. group also participates in many HIV/AIDS awareness rallies and fundraisers. We have even participated in some cancer fundraising events. All of the funds that we have raised have gone directly to charity. The R.A.P. group does not profit from any of the fundraisers. We continue to go to HIV/AIDS training sessions to help keep us up to date with the pandemic and how to fight it. We will continue to educate ourselves and our community, until we can say there is no such thing as HIV/AIDS anymore |
